The Tragic Facts:

  • Since 1973 - 94,259 lives ended by abortion in the state of Montana.unborn baby
  • 184 babies were aborted in the Flathead Valley in 2006.  Of this figure, 177 were county residents.
  • Flathead County now ranks fifth in the state (down from 3rd in 2005) behind Lewis & Clark (4th), Gallatin (3rd), Yellowstone (2nd) and Missoula (1st) counties in the number of abortions performed in 2006.
  • Nationally and statewide, the number of abortions are down.  In Flathead County, the numbers continue to decrease from 331 in '04, to 276 in '05, to 184 in '06.
  • There have been more than 48 million abortions in the United States since the 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision.  What do you think these indivduals may have been able to contribute to society if they had been allowed to live?
